How to Create a Subscription Circle on Google+
Google+ gives you the opportunity to sort your contacts by interests, topics or whatever you would like. You can create as many circles as you’d like and put people in multiple circles. As you continue to use the social network, you might find yourself following thousands of interesting and unique people from around the world. But, how do you keep yourself from missing out on the posts from the 10 or 20 users you really want to follow?
Thanks to Google’s circle “volume” controls, for a long time you were able to control the prevalence of posts from particular circles within your stream. However, now with the added “Notification” setting, you can get a notification every time someone in a particular circle posts something.
Now, this could get just plain silly if you consider doing it with a circle of say 500 people or more, but if you have a very well pruned circle with people you love to interact with, this new setting will help you ensure you don’t miss out on anything they post!
If you want to get the most out of Google+, you should consider the people that you follow and interact with the most. Once you have a list in your head, create a circle called “NotifyMe.” Start adding the people you really and truly enjoy interacting with or receiving content from.
Then, go to the “Home” section of Google+ and click the drop-down menu to select your “Notify Me” circle. On the volume control slider, click and drag until you get to the far right with the bell (notification) icon. Presto! Now you’ll be notified each time one of your favorite users contributes content to the stream! This will ensure you don’t miss out on anything you love and offer you the opportunity to interact with all of their content.
As you see new users throughout your Google+ experience that you would like to keep track of, simply add them to your “Notify Me” circle and you’ll always be notified when they post new and fresh content. If you found this tutorial helpful, be sure to share it with your friends and family to help them discover new and intriguing content right here on Google+.
