+Jennifer Wedel disclosed to us today that the Deputy Chief of Staff from+The White House called her home to inform her that the President wanted to ensure that her unemployed husband’s resume was send to key contacts in the Dallas Fort Worth area.

An historic event took place today. President +Barack Obama used a mixture of social media and emerging technology to connect with five ordinary Americans through a Google+ Hangout.
Participants ( +Jennifer Wedel, +Christine Wolf, Adam Clark, +Ramon Ray and +Paras Patel) were selected to appear on a Google+ hangout with each other, a moderator from Google, +Steve Grove and the President, +Barack Obama, who appeared live from +The White House (more…)
My Reaction to +The White House Google+ Hangout with President Barack Obama

Over the last several months, Google has been pushing its new technology hard. They have been holding concerts in New York City, spending time with the Dalai Lama and hosting celebrities like David Beckham.
Initially these hangouts seemed extremely organic. Such as the one with +will.i.am, where I got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hangout with him virtually one-on-one and ask him about social media and where music is going with this new technology. That happened purely by coincidence, I was in the right place at the right time.
That’s how this network works and that’s how a lot of opportunities work. You have to be at the right place at the right time. (more…)
The White House is Hanging Out Tomorrow

No word yet from +The White House, +Barack Obama or +Steve Grove as to whether or not my question made it into the queue or if I’ll be part of tomorrow’s hangout. But, nonetheless, it should be great to see the President using this incredible technology and platform to interact with some of our country’s citizens.
I really hope that politicians start to embrace and understand the power of connecting with their citizens and constituents using social media and things like hangouts that allows them to connect with people in their congressional districts while they’re busy working in Washington. (more…)
It’s my Birthday, Buy me a Drink!

So, here’s a sad story. It’s my birthday, and my sweetheart has left to visit her family. I’m going to go out and celebrate tomorrow and would love to have a loaded PayPal debit card to use when I have a few drinks.
